2009 Oredigger MTB Challenge @ SolVista

The Oredigger MTB Challenge will be held at SolVista Basin on September 19 and 20. The event is open to the public and collegiate athletes. Collegiate athletes will race in classes designated A, B, or C and members of the public will race in the USAC Open class.

Cost

Short Track $20 - Cross Country $20 - Downhill $20 - Mountain Cross $20
USAC Open $35 DH and XC only
2 events for $35 - 3 or more for $50
Lift tickets are $25/day for racers and spectators

Prizes

All event entry fees for Open categories will be pooled and awarded in cash as follows:
75% Payback for Open categories (DH and XC): 1st - 35%, 2nd - 25%, 3rd - 15%

     8:30-2:30 for all events - (XC registration closes 30 minutes before start)

XC Open for Practice: 8:00-9:30
DH Open for Practice: 10:00-5:00
MX Open for Practice: 10:00-2:50

Cross Country Race:
Natures Way to Wentz's way to Patriot (Nationals Pro loop) 1 lap = approx 4.5 miles ***
     Men's Collegiate A - 10:00 (4 laps)
     Men's Collegiate B - 10:03 (3 laps)
     USAC Open - 10:06 (4 laps)
     Women's Collegiate A - 10:09 (3 laps)
     Men's Collegiate C - 10:12 (2 laps)
     Women's Collegiate B - 10:15 (2 laps)

Mountain Cross Race:
     Practice - 10:00-2:50
     Qualifying - 3:00
     Finals - 3:45 or 30 minutes after last qualifying run

Sunday, September 20th
Registration:
     7:15-9:00 AM for STXC - (STXC registration closes 30 minutes before start)
     8:00-9:00 AM for DH

Short Track Race:
     Women's Collegiate B - 8:00, 15 minutes + 2 laps
     Men's Collegiate C - 8:30, 15 minutes + 2 laps
     Women's Collegiate A - 9:00, 20 minutes + 2 laps
     Men's Collegiate B - 9:35, 20 minutes + 2 laps
     Men's Collegiate A - 10:10, 25 minutes + 2 laps

Downhill Race:
     Practice - 10:00-10:30
     First start time - 11:00
     Start times will be issued in this order:
       - Men's A, Men's B, Men's C, Women's A, Women's B, USAC Open

      High Speed Contest! That's right, we've got a radar gun and we're asking you to go as
      fast as possible on the DH! During your race run, your speed will be recorded in a loctation
      TBA at registration. The day's fastest rider will receive $100. Simple.

Additional info

- Registration will be located on the second level of the lodge. Please register early.
- Bring your slalom bikes to take part in the pump track collegiate world champs :)
- Camping is only allowed in the designated campground, used for Nationals and the Sol Survivor. Camping permits will be available at registration and cost $20/vehicle. Look for signage above the base area.
- SolVista has a bike shop, bike rentals, and restaurant at the base area.

CSM Cycling is proud to announce the 5th Annual Oredigger Classic, scheduled for April 4 & 5, 2009. As a part of the Colorado School of Mines E-Days celebration, this year's event will be the biggest yet. CSM Alumni, faculty, and current students still race free!

The event is open to collegiate and USAC racers.

Hill Climb

A 4-mile individual time trial to the top of famous Lookout Mountain. This is a challenging climb and steep grades can be expected! Course map.

Circuit Race

A 2-km course around the CSM campus with fast descents, a good climb, and great turns to ensure a close race and good times. Course map.

Cost

One event for $30 - Both events for $50 - Juniors race free
Additional $5 for onsite USAC registrations. One day USAC license $10 per day. No refunds; race rain or shine. Collegiate Racers are still $20 for one race or $35 for both.

Directions

Golden is located ~12 miles west of Denver. Race signage will be posted on both sides of 6th Avenue a quarter mile from the race location. Additional directions provided on flyer.

Vendor space available! If you or your company are interested in putting up a booth at the 2008 Oredigger Classic, please contact Topher Hurley. Over the course of the weekend, an estimated 600+ people will be in attendance or spectating. All we are asking for in return is a small product donation to help with prize efforts.
